Petit Pois
I visited Petit Pois in December 2019, My partner Gary had his Christmas work meal here and he was keen to go back as he really enjoyed it.
The restaurant itself looks really authentic, it has a very French feel to it, we booked a table on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was really busy with a great atmosphere, the staff were friendly and inviting.
The menu is quite small, but the options are very appealing and I find sometimes small menus work better as more effort goes into creating the dishes, I think its all about quality over quantity.
We ordered frogs legs goujons with garlic and parsley butter and snails with garlic and parsley to share to start, both were delicious and I could of eaten more, for my main course I ordered market fish, clams, mussels, squid, potatoes, sea vegetables, bouillabaisse, its was full of flavour and the seafood and fish was so fresh, Gary orederd the duck breast whch was cooked to perfection and super tasty.
We shared a bottle of house white wine - Vermentino Vielles Vignes Languedoc which was £25 per bottle which was very reasonablly priced and complemented the food nicely. I often go for the house wine as my dad always told me although its normally the cheapest on the menu, it doesn't mean its bad as the restaurant are making it there house wine it needs to reflect them and therefore should be a good option, unless you get recommended another option to go with certain foods.
This was a nice dining experience, great value for money, lovely fresh food and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, I will definatley be going back.
